The first match of the double header between the two teams has been done and dusted, and Sydney Thunder have emerged as the winners. Adelaide Strikers have to work on their batting, as losing wickets at the regular intervals hurt them against the Thunder. Bates and Taylor were great with the ball, too good for the Strikers.
There were some very solid contributions from the batting department, too. Priest scored 51 in 27 balls for Thunder, and it set the tone of the innings. Stalenberg and Taylor provided some useful runs for the middle order, and the score of 148 was set. For Strikers, Devine and McGrath took 2 wickets each, McGrath being the more economical.
